From auditioning for American Idol to releasing his own albums, Colton Dixon has built much from his childhood foundation of gospel music. For more than a decade, Dixon has made great musical strides and developed his talents into a beautiful instrument for the Lord. With everything he writes, Dixon pours his heart out to God. With relatable lyrics and so many catchy tunes, it’s no wonder he’s won GMA Dove Awards and been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards. It’s with this same talent and desire to honor God that Dixon has released his latest hit, The Love I Have for You.
The Love I Have for You
Running away often sounds a whole lot better than facing a problem. Why put in the time, effort, and emotions when you can simply ignore whatever’s bothering you until it goes away? It’d be nice if that actually worked. Unfortunately, ignoring our sins, conflicts, and temptations usually makes their hold over us worse. And in all of it, we’re really just trying everything we can to control the storm we’re in except for turn to the Lord.
We forget that God loves us unconditionally; that His love is powerful. In fact, as Colton Dixon sings in The Love I Have for You, the Lord’s love—alive in us through His Spirit—enables us to move mountains. God already has the answer to our hardship, but He often waits for us to invite Him into our lives before He reveals it. And then He waits again and again because, as Dixon confesses in his song, we return to our ways and forget God’s until we’re brought to our knees before Him.
But no matter what we face or how long we run, the love God has for us is unchanging. He will lift us up when we fall and point us in the direction we should go every time. We only need to turn towards Him to make it through whatever we’re facing.

Lyrics
Woke up feeling anxious
Happens on occasion
The feelings I don’t deal with
Overflowing from the basement
I think I’ve hit a limit
God, it’s been a minute
Couple heartbreaks, couple hard days
Since I paid you a visit
So here I am back again
Askin’ how I’m ever gonna make it out
You told me once, you told me twice
You’ll say it again a thousand times
With the love I have for you
Ain’t a mountain you can’t move
In the dark, I’ll be the light
In the fight, I’m by your side
When you’re weak, I’ll be strong
Your hallelujah song
Oh, you’re gonna make it through
With the love I have for you
Can’t hear when the phone calls
Not there when the tree falls
In the same way, yeah, blind faith
Is the end all and the be all
Going through the motions
Missing all the moments
Time flies and like that
I’m right back to broken, but
You told me once, you told me twice
You’ll say it again a thousand times
With the love I have for you
Ain’t a mountain you can’t move
In the dark, I’ll be the light
In the fight, I’m by your side
When you’re weak, I’ll be strong
Your hallelujah song
Oh, you’re gonna make it through
With the love I have for you
No better kind, no greater truth
The love that I, I have for you
It’s river wide, it’s to the moon
You’ll be alright, you’ll make it
With the love I have for you
Ain’t a mountain you can’t move
In the dark, I’ll be the light
In the fight, I’m by your side
When you’re weak, I’ll be strong
Your hallelujah song
Oh, you’re gonna make it through
With the love I have for you
