Before he became a beloved CCM artist, Seph Schlueter devoted seven years of his life to serving the Lord as a missionary. From the biggest moments to the smallest details, the Lord’s presence remains unchanging. He’s never forgotten to paint the sunrise, and He’s never left us behind. Think of all the things our God has ever done in your life—and before it—and then think of all the things He’s never done. Did He make it impossible for you to battle your addiction? Did He leave you under the full weight of your grief for all your days? Did He promise to lead you out of your darkest valleys and then betray you?
No, He didn’t. And He Won’t Start Now. When the Lord makes a promise to His people, He keeps it. Many of us will likely encounter deep loss, unexpected illness, and divisive conflicts. But that doesn’t mean God has abandoned us to those things. In fact, He is often most recognizable in our hardest trials. He moves through the friends who send a kind text, the pastor who gives a powerful sermon, and the peace in those quiet but not lonely moments.
Just like the promises of all the things the Lord will do, there are many things He will also never do. Look at His Word and the evidence of your own life. He hasn’t left you in your suffering before, and He Won’t Start Now.
