Counting My Blessings
Counting My Blessings is a heartwarming worship song that calls listeners to remember the things God has accomplished for is. It can be so easy to lose sight of every good thing the Lord has provided when we forget to look for Him in every circumstance. But once we adjust our focus to seek His face instead of our dissatisfaction, we run out of ways to thank Him. Schlueter’s goal in Counting My Blessings is to help all believers see the Lord’s move in our lives. No matter how dark our low days may be, we can always find something to thank God for. Instead of allowing ourselves to be lost in our misery, we should lose ourselves in celebrating the goodness of God. Just like Seph Schlueter, we’ll soon realize there are too many blessings to actually count. What a good God we serve.

It’s like it was yesterday I was a praying for a miracle Scared to have a little hope And now looking back today Seeing all the things You’ve done I can’t even add them up One, two, three Up to infinity I’d run out of numbers Before I could thank You for everything God, I’m still counting my blessings All that you’ve done in my life The more that I look in the details The more of your goodness I find Father on this side of heaven I know that I’ll run out of time But I will keep counting my blessings Knowing I can’t count that high And I know that seasons Never last forever So, God, I will remember All of the reasons My heart has to be grateful All the times you have been faithful to me God, I’m still counting my blessings All that you’ve done in my life The more that I look in the details The more of your goodness I find Father on this side of heaven I know that I’ll run out of time But I will keep counting my blessings Knowing I can’t count that high Oh, I can’t count that high High Oh oh oh oh Oh oh oh High Oh, Your goodness, Your goodness One, two, three Up to infinity I’d run out of numbers Before I could thank you for everything God, I’m still counting my blessings All that you’ve done in my life (oh oh oh) The more that I look in the details (In the details) The more of your goodness I find (Oh oh oh) Father on this side of heaven I know that I’ll run out of time (oh oh oh) But I will keep counting my blessings Knowing I can’t count that high I will keep counting my blessings Knowing I can’t count that high
Every day offers us a new opportunity to praise God for the blessings He’s given us. Whether we’re living on Cloud 9 or wallowing in the depths of despair, there is always something to give God the glory for. As Seph Schlueter sings in Counting My Blessings, sometimes it’s hard to see God’s goodness on this side of heaven , but we can always find Him in the details. One of the greatest truths we cling to as believers is the care of our Lord. He doesn’t dismiss the details of our lives, He’s right there in them and guiding them.
Choose today to give God the praise. No matter your circumstances, start counting the blessings of your life and you’ll find yourself out of numbers.
