All of us at KAMB hope and pray that our listening family has found encouragement and hope by listening to this station. Every day brings new challenges, but our goal is to remind everyone who listens that our God is here with us. Whether you’re a new Christian, a seasoned listener, or a curious nonbeliever, our station has something to offer you. So, keep your radios on and stay alert for Cochren & Co.’s latest hit, Parking Lot.
Cochren & Co. first began when Michael Cochren and some friends got together and started a band. The group traveled together and played music at different venues across the country. Cochren & Co. still consists of a group of friends but now also includes Michael Cochren’s wife Leah. Since their initial formation, Cochren & Co. have released multiple top hit singles and received a GMA Dove Award nomination. The band’s debut album with Gotee Records released in 2021 and their music received further recognition from Billboard and GRAMMY.com. Cochren & Co. were also invited to appear on the Grand Ole Opry stage in June 2023. With all these great achievements already tackled, Cochren & Co. are sure to continue their success as they glorify God through their inspiring music. Their latest release, Parking Lot, will touch the hearts of listeners everywhere as we are invited to remember our testimonies.
It can be really easy to believe that every salvation story is better or prettier than our own. All of us have heard powerful testimonies about people hearing God’s voice, being miraculously healed, or immediately turning from addiction. In Parking Lot, we’re all reminded that the miraculous still happens in small moments and unexpected places, too. Just as many experience dramatic interventions, many experience quiet ones. No matter where your first encounter with the Lord was, that moment of connection is significant. Parking Lot draws attention to that intimacy with God.
It’s in the quiet moments when God speaks the loudest. He knows when the best time to act is, and He knows exactly how to transform a simple moment into a life-defining one. For Michael Cochren, that moment happened in a parking lot while he was listening to the radio. In the unlikeliest of places, God got personal with Cochren just like He does with all of us. No testimony looks exactly like another’s, but all of them lead back to the same result: relationship with God. Whether it’s in the middle of a storm or the middle of a Parking Lot, God meets all of us exactly when we need Him to.

It wasn't where I thought we'd meet Outside of a dorm room on Franklin Street With tears in my eyes in the driver's seat That's just the place God came for me It was a still small voice On a Tuesday night Like You were right there with me On the passenger side You turned that car Into a mountain top Oh, I met Jesus in a parking lot I ran from You for quite a while But You called out in love to this wayward child You didn't wait at the altar for me to walk the aisle You grabbed my heart right through that radio dial It was a still small voice On a Tuesday night Like You were right there with me On the passenger side You turned that car Into a mountain top Oh, I met Jesus in a parking lot Oh, I saw the light in that dashboard glow Oh, threw my hands in the air when You saved my soul It wasn't where I thought we'd meet Outside of a dorm room on Franklin Street It was a still small voice On a Tuesday night Like You were right there with me On the passenger side You turned that car Into a mountain top Oh, I met Jesus in a parking lot It was a still small voice On a Tuesday night Like You were right there with me On the passenger side You turned that car Into a mountain top Oh, I met Jesus in a parking lot Oh
The things we spend our attention on are important. The shows we watch, music we listen to, and things we pursue have the potential to uplift or destroy us. Cochren & Co. illustrate this through their message in Parking Lot. The last thing Michael Cochren expected that night was to encounter the living God. Yet he did: through the radio. This is the kind of story that should make us pause and realize how pivotal our influences are. Stations like KAMB want to point our listeners’ focus back to the Lord during challenging and joyful times. To do that, though, we all have to seek out God even during the struggle.
The next time you find yourself flipping through stations, keep your ears open for Parking Lot. To hear more testimonies by artists like Cochren & Co., keep your radio dial tuned to KAMB.
