As we head into February of 2023, we want to thank our listening family for your continual support. We are blessed to share our love for the Lord with each of you, and it makes revealing new music even more fun here at KAMB. This week, you’re invited to take a closer look at Cody Carnes and his latest hit, Ain’t Nobody.
Cody Carnes has become an increasingly popular artist in CCM throughout the last decade. He originally began playing music as a kid which eventually led him to worship music. Although Carnes played with a few bands as a young adult, one of his larger successes was joining Gateway Worship. While there, Carnes further developed his musical talents and met his wife, Kari Jobe (a fellow CCM artist). The couple began cowriting songs together and eventually moved to Nashville where they started their family.
In 2017, Carnes signed a recording deal with Capitol CMG and started his solo career. Since then, he has released many successful songs and collaborated on even more. Included among these hits are “Run to the Father” with Matt Maher, “The Blessing” with Kari Jobe, Steven Furtick, and Chris Brown, and “Too Good to Not Believe” with Brandon Lake. In addition to these beautiful collaborations, Carnes has also worked with other CCM artists like Hillsong and Maverick City Music. Carnes’ latest hit has formed in a similarly collaborative fashion and is entitled Ain’t Nobody.
Carnes joyfully sings out the lyrics of Ain’t Nobody as he describes his experience in knowing Jesus as his Savior. He describes it as a story to tell, and it’s the kind of story that every believer can speak into. All of us have our own stories about how we came to know Christ as our Lord and Savior. And because of God’s grace, we have the great honor and privilege to share them with others. When we share them, though, we ought to take some notes from Carnes’ presentation.
Now, this doesn’t mean that we all need to write radio singles about our Savior (although that would be neat). But listening to this song should encourage us to focus our attention on all the blessings God has given us rather than on the life He’s called us out of. Instead of dwelling on what once controlled us, we should rejoice in knowing the One who has set us free. As Carnes’ sings again and again, Ain’t Nobody loves us like Jesus, and this is the truth that we should be sharing with others.

As you go about your week, we want to encourage you to remember all that the Lord has done for you. All of us have seen God move in miraculous ways, big or small, and we should rejoice in those things. Regardless of what we face each day, we are new creations because of our Lord. Because of Jesus, we can look forward with joy and hope, knowing He will deliver better things day by day.

We are always excited to introduce our listening family to new music here at KAMB. So many things battle for our attention every day, and we are thrilled when you choose to spend time with us. While there are often new artists to share with you, it is just as fun to reveal new songs from KAMB favorites. As the new year continues to unfold, be sure to keep an ear open for Authority (In the Name of Jesus) by Stars Go Dim.
Stars Go Dim originally formed in 2007 as a band but the name now only refers to Chris Cleveland, an original band member. Over the years, Cleveland worked with the then secular band and as a worship leader for Tulsa’s Asbury United Methodist Church. In 2015, Stars Go Dim gained vast attention with a debut CCM album released under the same name. From it came the no. 1 hit “You Are Loved” and other popular songs. Following such great success, Stars Go Dim has received several awards and many additional nominations (including Billboards and Dove). Since the CCM debut, Starts Go Dim has also performed with both pop and Christian artists around the world. In addition to his own music, Cleveland has also written songs played by other artists. Stars Go Dim’s latest hit, however, is a new song called Authority (In the Name of Jesus).
Authority (In the Name of Jesus) is yet another lively declaration of truth from Stars Go Dim. Every lyric speaks to the miraculous power of God. The song begins with examples drawn directly from God’s Word before confronting the trials that plague us daily. There is truth for the lies, hope for the fear, and wholeness for the brokenness. And all of these answers are found in Jesus. As the song’s name promises, Authority (In the Name of Jesus) is the focus here.
By starting the song with biblical examples, Stars Go Dim first reminds us of exactly who our God is. We serve the same God who performed unbelievable miracles in the Bible, the most important being Jesus’ resurrection. The authority God demonstrated in calling Jesus back from the dead is the same authority living in us today. If nothing could defeat Him then, nothing is going to defeat Him now. And it is because of Jesus that we can boldly stand upon such truth and promise. Just as Stars Go Dim claims in Authority (In the Name of Jesus), something happens when we speak in the name of Jesus.

You move the mountains and you split the sea You called the dead man up to live and breathe The same authority's alive in me So I'll move the mountains, and I'll split the sea I speak to the lies Truth in the name of Jesus I speak to the fear Hope in the name of Jesus I speak to the brokenness Wholeness in the name of Jesus In the name of Jesus When I'm surrounded and I cannot stand When insecurities are creeping in (are creeping in) I won't bow down to any fear of man 'Cause He who is within me is the great I am I speak to the lies Truth in the name of Jesus I speak to the fear Hope in the name of Jesus I speak to the brokenness Wholeness in the name of Jesus In the name of Jesus Something happens when we sing Your praises Something happens and the whole room changes It's the power of Your name, oh the name of Jesus Something happens when we sing Your praises Something happens and the whole room changes It's the power of Your name, oh the name of Jesus Something happens when we sing Your praises Something happens and the whole room changes It's the power of Your name, oh the name of Jesus, oh I I speak to the lies Truth in the name of Jesus I speak to the fear Hope in the name of Jesus I speak to the brokenness Wholeness in the name of Jesus In the name of Jesus I speak to the lies Truth in the name of Jesus I speak to the fear Hope in the name of Jesus I speak to the brokenness Wholeness in the name of Jesus In the name of Jesus
Despite the darkness we often encounter, we are never without hope because of the One who saved us. We are no longer helpless victims to our circumstances but living testimonies to the power and authority of God. Jesus is the measure of God’s love for us. It is because of Him that we can boldly stand upon the promises our Lord has made.
As you head into this new week, remember who the God we serve is. If you’re struggling to hold onto His promises, keep your radio tuned into KAMB. Not only will you hear Authority (In the Name of Jesus) by Stars Go Dim, but you will also find other God-honoring music and programs. What better way to start the new year than listening to KAMB? As we dive into this fresh start together, let’s remember to praise the One who’s given it to us. Our listening family will be pleased to hear familiar hits as well as brand new music from beloved artists. Among the recent additions to our station is The Lord’s Prayer (It’s Yours) by Matt Maher.
Of the many artists in CCM, Matt Maher is one of the most well-known. His career kicked off in 2008 when he signed with Essential Records, and he’s topped the charts ever since. Like other contemporary artists, much of Maher’s success comes from both singing and songwriting. In addition to his own hits—songs like “Lord I Need You”, “Because He Lives (Amen)”, and “Alive and Breathing”—Maher has also cowritten many other successful songs recorded by fellow artists. Because of his musical brilliance, Maher has received RIAA certifications for several songs, released 10 albums, and has been nominated for both Grammy and Dove awards. Such success demonstrates his talent and sincere faith. Regardless of who sings his songs, every lyric Maher writes points audiences to the Lord through biblical truths. It is with this same dedication that his latest song, The Lord’s Prayer (It’s Yours), has been written.
Just as its name promises, The Lord’s Prayer (It’s Yours) is directly inspired by Jesus’ prayer in Matthew 6. Matt Maher masterfully combines a lively melody with some of Jesus’ most famous words to reinforce the Lord’s message. Throughout the four Gospels, Jesus is clear about where our priorities should lie. Rather than leaving us to our own devices, He instructs us to set aside our desires and to obey God’s will. He also demonstrates trust in God’s provision, emphasizes the importance of forgiveness, and directs us towards God’s protection. While Jesus also addresses several other characteristics of faith, these are the ones seen in the Lord’s Prayer.
By creating a song around this prayer, Maher reminds modern audiences that Jesus’ words are just as important today. Instead of using his own words to describe the relationship we should have with the Lord, Maher relies on Jesus’ words themselves. As believers, we are called to live our faith in Him, and The Lord’s Prayer (It’s Yours) clearly testifies to that message.
Father let Your Kingdom come Father let Your will be done On earth as in heaven Right here in my heart Father let Your Kingdom come Father let Your will be done On earth as in heaven Right here in my heart Give us this day our daily bread Forgive us, forgive us As we forgive the ones who sinned against us Forgive them And lead us not into temptation But deliver us from the evil one Let Your kingdom come Father let Your Kingdom come (Holy, holy) Father let Your will be done On earth as in heaven (Let it be done) Right here in my heart Father let Your Kingdom come (Holy, holy) Father let Your will be done On earth as in heaven (Let it be done) Right here in my heart Give us this day our daily bread Forgive us, forgive us As we forgive the ones who sinned against us Forgive them And lead us not into temptation But deliver us from the evil one Let Your kingdom come It's Yours, it's Yours All Yours, all Yours The kingdom, the power, the glory are Yours It's Yours, it's Yours All Yours, all Yours Forever and ever the kingdom is Yours It's Yours, it's Yours All Yours, all Yours The kingdom, the power, the glory are Yours It's Yours, it's Yours All Yours, all Yours Forever and ever the kingdom is Yours Father let Your Kingdom come (Holy, holy) Father let Your will be done On earth as in heaven (Let it be done) Right here in my heart (Here in my heart) Father let Your Kingdom come (Holy, holy) Father let Your will be done On earth as in heaven (Let it be done) Right here in my heart (Here in my heart) On earth as in heaven Right here in my heart
The New Year season often brings a sense of excitement and renewal into our lives. We make resolutions, we try to start new hobbies, and we plan to break bad habits. A lot of what we set out to do revolves around making smarter choices and becoming “better versions” of ourselves. However, as believers, we need to be mindful of the goals we pursue. There is nothing wrong with wanting to improve our lives, but we will run into trouble if we leave God out of those plans. Instead of trying to strategize our own ideas of what “better” means, we should look to God for His definition. Just as Matt Maher encourages us in The Lord’s Prayer (It’s Yours), we should look to Scripture for the Lord’s will and direction in our lives. By putting God first and allowing Jesus’ words to echo into our lives, we are sure to find even greater blessings than anything we could discover on our own.
KAMB is so excited to continue ministering to our listening family, and we hope 2023 holds great blessings for everyone.
