A Job Well Done

With sincerest appreciation for who he is and what he’s done, KAMB announces the retirement of its long-time General Manager, Tim Land. His career at KAMB spans 41 years, beginning as a volunteer and assisting the Program Director with clerical duties.
From Volunteer to GM
“Prior to working at KAMB, I served as an Associate Pastor of Youth and Christian Education at a local church,” Tim recalls. I had experience in church ministry and was a Biblical and Theological studies major in college and obtained a Master’s Degree in Christian Education, but had no training in business management or in radio. That would change as Tim moved from volunteering to working overnight part-time. Within months, he was hired full-time as Operations Director, and eventually moved to Program Director. By 1994, he was promoted to General Manager where he has served ever since.
Balancing Ministry with Business
Tim commented, “I’ve learned a great deal about the financial side of ministry and running a tax-exempt non-profit ministry. Early on I knew that my gifts and talents were best utilized in administration and management. Along the way, God enabled me to learn how to balance the dynamic tension of leading a parachurch organization that is both a ministry and a business at the same time; one that is subject to strict FCC and IRS regulations as well as being faithful to follow biblical principles in guiding this ministry.” Tim added,
“KAMB has been a great place to serve the Lord. We have been blessed over the years with many wonderful and gifted people who have worked here. Some of our current Staff have served here for several years as well, and we are grateful for the close relationships that our team enjoys.”
His final day in the office is June 30, 2023. Please join KAMB in expressing our thanks to God for Tim’s commitment and service over these past four decades.
