Here are some preferred qualifications, experience and character traits we are looking for in potential KAMB Board Members: Spiritual Maturity and Discernment; Good Decision Making Skills; A heart for ministry in general and a heart for KAMB’s radio ministry in particular; Available to attend 6 Board Meetings per year and actively carry out Board Responsibilities and Assignments; Lack of personal agendas and ambitions regarding KAMB’s ministry emphasis, format, programming, etc.; Willingness to receive training and participate in raising financial support for KAMB’s ministry.

Christian radio has an expanding multi-media approach that literally meets people where they are to tune their hearts and minds towards the call and cause of Christ. For this reason, KAMB / Celebration Radio has a special place in the community and I count it a privilege to serve this ministry. I am married to Valerie and we have two children that are growing up way too fast. I have been involved in investments and finance, sales and management, as well as radio broadcasting. Free time allows us to walk our border collie, Shasta. She considers herself the little sister of the family and lives up to it in many ways. When she is feeling regal, I call her "Shasta of the Highlands" (bagpipes optional).
“In love He predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons through Jesus Christ.” (Eph 1:5). I have believed this truth for years but only recently have I come to embrace it! To imagine that God created us to have everlasting fellowship with Him, and to enjoy His creation forever just boggles my mind. I am grateful that He rescued me out of this darkness into His blessed kingdom. I will spend the rest of my life seeking first His kingdom, proclaiming this wonderful good news wherever I go. I believe KAMB does a powerful work delivering this message of encouragement to the believer and of hope to the lost. KAMB did just that for Donna and I when we moved our family to Merced 20 years ago; for we found KAMB on the radio and it was just the kind of encouragement we needed getting a fresh start in our new community. I am an outside salesman calling on the construction industry in the Central Valley, and I have been on numerous boards involved in Christian ministry throughout the years. I will pour my energy into this Board as we continue to advance the Gospel through this fruitful and innovative ministry that has now expanded its reach to the South Bay area as well. “And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” (Matt 24:14)
As Secretary of the KAMB Board of Directors, I feel as if I have returned home. Many years ago I was a station operator at KAMB. My shift was from midnight to eight in the morning. I loved it! I did that for about a year. As a financial supporter of KAMB for years, I now realize I can help to make an added impact as a Board member. I have 3 amazing children, Marcus, Thea and Katie as well as 5 incredible grandchildren. My husband, Roger and I have been married for over 30 years! We enjoy reading, traveling, and kayaking. In the Turlock School District, I have served as a teacher, Resource Specialist and both Elementary and Junior High school counselor. I love working with parents, students, administration and co-workers to help our students work to their full potential. What an exciting and fulfilling career! I am a member of Crossroads Church in Turlock and serve as secretary to the Elder Board, choir member, small group ensemble member and sing in duets on a regular basis. I also usher during our contemporary service. I have watched God faithfully at work in my life and feel very blessed.
I am glad to be Treasurer of the board of KAMB. I first starting listening to KAMB when I was going through training in the Air Force at Castle AFB in 1981. KAMB was my first exposure to Christian radio and it was such a blessing to hear uplifting music over the radio. When I left Castle I missed being able to hear Christ centered programming. In 1986 I came back to Castle AFB as an instructor and was very glad to be able to tune my radio again to Good News Radio.
After leaving the Active Duty Air Force I did another 16 years in the Reserves while being a banker and then owning a business in Merced for 30 years. I was blessed to find my wife Sandra 33 years ago, a God fearing woman who has been able to see past my faults and put up with me.
I look forward to being a part of this ministry, a real pioneer in the industry.
Our family has been listening to KAMB for over 30 years. We also have it on all the time in our office. We often have comments from people that recognize the music that is playing.
I have been involved in our family business most of my adult life, and took over as the owner from my father in 2012. I have been married to my wife, Vicki for 37 years. We have 4 children and 5 grandchildren. I am actively involved in our local church.
I have enjoyed listening/watching as KAMB has grown and changed and continued to stay relevant to today's world without compromising and always encourging listeners toward God and the truth of His Word.
