Jon Reddick: The Way

Our world is a big place filled with loud voices. Some are encouraging and others are devastating. With so much noise, determining where our hearts are pointed—and by whom—can be difficult, especially when we haven’t given the Lord’s voice first priority in our lives. In his song, The Way, Jon Reddick makes it clear that he’s done with believing what the world has to say and he’s all in with Jesus.

Reddick admits that he has spent time “chasing those lies” of the world and he now has his “eyes locked on [Jesus].” And then he prays something that all of us should take seriously: “Remind my heart if I start to stray / Jesus is the way”.

This isn’t a call of condemnation but of remembrance. It’s an invitation to join Reddick today and to decide who holds your heart: the world or the Lord? And once you decide, to join him in shouting it out for the world to hear that Jesus is The Way!

At KAMB, we hope and pray that you will choose Him today—whether it’s for the first time or for the hundredth. As you consider the direction you want to go in, reflect on Reddick’s words when he sings,

                                               You are the way out of the darkness
                                                 You are the way out of the storm
                                                 You are the way out of the broken
                                                     Just like You’ve been before

Jesus isn’t going anywhere; He hasn’t changed. But He is waiting for His kids to take Him seriously and to choose Him with all their hearts, because as Jon Reddick describes, Jesus truly is The Way.
