Crowder

David Crowder was a student at Baylor University when his musical career began. With Baylor being a Christian college, David was surprised to find out that many of the students didn’t attend church. His remedy? He started one with a friend and University Baptist Church was born in 1995 to make church (and Jesus) something the 20-something students would not just come to and enjoy, but relate to. He eventually started releasing songs, leading to his debut album with David Crowder Band

David Crowder Band Signed in 2002, the band had a 10-year run, winning 14 Dove Awards, before retiring in 2012. While David knew that the David Crowder Band was over, he knew that God still had musical plans for his future. The idea for Crowder and his first solo album Neon Steeple was birthed in the jump seat on the tour bus during their last tour as David Crowder Band. Crowders debut solo album brought continued chart success, topping Christian charts and reaching #9 on the billboard top 200 along with a Grammy nomination!

Grave Robber

Crowder puts his undeniable stamp on resurrection with new single “Grave Robber.” Inspired by the biblical story of Lazarus — the dead friend Jesus miraculously brought back to life.

“It doesn’t matter what you’re up against in life. It doesn’t matter how bleak it feels, Jesus can conquer anything. If He can conquer death, if the resurrection is for real — which it is — then He’s got you,” Crowder says of the message behind the track. “That’s what this song’s all about… I hope it’s as meaningful to you as it is to me. I love it and can’t wait for you to hear it.”

Crowder calls his latest offering “res-rock,” short for “resurrection rock.” Lyrically, he cleverly equates Jesus to a grave robber as he sings, “Like a thief in the night He snuck in, took my life. I was dead, now I’m alive and singing.”
