Cochren & Co.
Cochren & Co. has been an increasingly popular band throughout Christian circles over the past few years. The band originally formed when Michael Cochren and a group of friends started playing music together. With a unique sound twined around their uplifting lyrics, Cochren & Co. has found a way to stand out. The band has gone on multiple tours around the country and has been repeatedly recognized for their musical talents. Cochren & Co. was nominated for a GMA Dove Award, place on the 2022 Top 15 Billboard for Christian Airplay & AC, has been featured on a CBS, and performed at the Grand Ole Opry. Some of Cochren & Co.’s best known songs are “One Day,” “Thank God for Sunday Morning,” and “Parking Lot.” And now they’re adding another great hit to their lineup: Money Can’t Buy.
Money Can’t Buy
In Money Can’t Buy, Cochren & Co. describe the difference between a life pursuing this world and a life pursuing the Lord. We all have things that we wish we could buy. Maybe it’s a bigger house, a fancier car, or expensive clothes. Whatever your “something” may be, it’s probably threatened your contentment a time or two. In Money Can’t Buy, Cochren & Co. remind us that the idea money can buy what we’re after is a lie. Only God can give us the peace, hope, satisfaction, or sense of self-worth we may be tirelessly chasing.
Cochren & Co. compare this truth to waking up from a deep sleep. The band positions Money Can’t Buy as a request to God that He wake us up. Only the Lord can redefine the way we perceive the world around us. And only He can fully satisfy our deepest desires and most desperate needs. Everything He has to give us doesn’t cost us anything more than our belief. What a beautiful truth to treasure in our hearts.

Lyrics
I set my sights on shiny things
That crumble into rust
That fade into the dust
I bought the lie that someday I
Would finally have enough
But it never is enough
So, wake me up
From this slumber that I'm in
Take me up
To a brand new horizon
Oh Lord, give me eyes to see
That what I need don't cost a thing
You fill my life
With something money can't buy
I'm done chasing after gold
Rip the price tag off my soul
You fill my life
With something money can't buy
(Something money
Something money can't buy
Something money
Something money can't buy)
It's the peace that comes from perfect love
The wonder in the stars
The beating in my heart
Sometimes you gotta stop
And look at what you got
That's when you realize
Ooh, the gift it is to be alive
Oh Lord, give me eyes to see
That what I need don't cost a thing
You fill my life
With something money can't buy
I'm done chasing after gold
Rip the price tag off my soul
You fill my life
With something money can't buy
Your love is all I've ever needed
Only You, only You can wake me up
From this slumber that I'm in
Take me up
To a brand new horizon
Oh Lord, give me eyes to see
That what I need don't cost a thing
You fill my life
With something money can't buy
I'm done chasing after gold
Rip the price tag off my soul
You fill my life
With something money can't buy
Something money can't buy
Money can't buy
Something money can't buy
I'm done chasing after gold
Rip the price tag off my soul
You fill my life
With something money can't buy
(Something money
Something money can't buy
Something money
Something money can't buy)
