Chris Tomlin
Unless you are brand new to KAMB, you know who Chris Tomlin is; if by chance you don’t know that name allow me to introduce Christian Music artist, Chris Tomlin. In an interview with Ross Cluver with CCM Magazine, Chris talked about the beginning.
“As a young kid I had given my heart to God and said, ‘whatever you want me to do.’ I didn’t pray to be a songwriter or worship leader. I just wanted to be available to go wherever God would lead me.”
Chris originally had his eye on Medical School or possibly a career in Physical Therapy, but God had a different path laid out for him. In 1995, the Christian Music Industry was changed forever when KAMB Artist Chris Tomlin joined the scene.
Chris Tomlin has sold more than 8 million albums and 11.3 million digital tracks with 16 No. 1 singles. He has won multiple Grammy, American Music, Billboard Music, Dove and BMI Songwriter of the Year awards, and his tours have sold out venues for almost thirty years.
It is estimated that each week, 20-30 million people sing one of Tomlin’s songs in their worship services. He has more than 1 billion digital radio streams, joining only three other artists to ever receive that honor.
“My success is as big a surprise to me as it is to anyone. It still blows me away how my songs have stood the test of time with all of the constant touring and concerts. Beyond that though, the fact that my songs have become timeless without me even having to be present to sing them — that means the world to me.”
“I’m always trying to write songs that give people a voice to connect them with the Lord. I’ve never strayed from that. It’s not about show or entertainment. I love when people have a good time, but the greatest thing about it for me is those moments when people really feel like they’re connecting with the Lord and expressing their gratitude to God.”
In the New Testament Book of John, Chapter 16, Jesus tells his disciples of the trials that they will face in his absence because they claim His name. Peter addresses the trials that await all of us and how we are to handle them in 1st Peter, Chapter 2.
Strongholds
Tomlin’s song Strongholds is an anthem that reminds us of the power that we can all take hold of in the name of Jesus. God has fought for his children since the beginning of time and His character has never and will never change. Give your battle to him as you listen to the lyrics of this song. Sing along with a shout of praise and watch with anticipation as every stronghold begins to crumble at your feet.

Lyrics
Walls are coming down Fear is coming down Lies are coming down By the blood of the Lamb Idols are coming down Giants are coming down Darkness is coming down By the blood of the Lamb No weapon formed against me can stand against Your word Shout it out, every stronghold must come down Jesus is undefeated, the battle is the Lord's Shout it out, every stronghold must come down Mountains are coming down Addictions are coming down All evil is coming down By the blood of the Lamb The blood of the Lamb, yeah No weapon formed against me can stand against Your word Shout it out, every stronghold must come down Jesus is undefeated, the battle is the Lord's Shout it out, every stronghold must come down The Lord is our salvation, He is our champion Oh, there is power, so much power in His blood He holds the keys to freedom, He trampled death and grave The demons trembled when He rolled the stone away The Lord is our salvation, He is our champion Oh, there is power, so much power in His blood He holds the keys to freedom, He trampled death and grave The demons trembled when He rolled the stone away No weapon formed against me can stand against Your word Shout it out, every stronghold must come down Jesus, You're undefeated, this battle, it is Yours Shout it out, every stronghold must come down Every stronghold must come down Jesus, I believe it, let it all fall down, oh Love is pouring out Grace is pouring out Mercy is pouring out By the blood of the Lamb
