Bodie
As a child and adolescent, Bodie enjoyed the company of many talented artists including his parents. Being raised in LA, Bodie was never short on opportunities to discover and appreciate the art around him (essentialmusicpublishing.com). Because of his environment, Bodie had a strong start in exploring his own artistic talents. As an adult, he had a unique opportunity to participate in the 22nd season of The Voice. The show provided him with a much larger platform than ever before, and Bodie made it to the finale! Although he didn’t win the competition, his participation exposed him to greater opportunities, and he signed on with Sony Music soon after the season ended.
Today, Bodie continues weaving his faith into his songs. When asked about the importance of his faith, Bodie said, “It’s everything. I wouldn’t be doing music if I wasn’t 100% confident in the fact that that’s where I was called to. I know that’s what God created me for. In short, it’s what gives me why, what, and my how” (theauqarian.com). It’s with this attitude that Bodie has written his latest hit, Whisper and the Wind.
Whisper and the Wind
Have you ever caught yourself focusing so much on God’s next “big miracle” that you miss the small ones He provides every day? It’s really easy—almost too easy—to forget that the Lord is with us in the quiet moments, too. In his new song, Whisper and the Wind, Bodie describes God’s presence as the calm within our storms. In all our effort, our split attention, our chaotic schedules, God is right there beside us. He isn’t out of reach or deaf to our needs. In fact, He already knows the answers we’re searching for because He is the answer in our lives.
When asked about Whisper and the Wind, Bodie shared that he “wanted to write a song where God moves in these mighty and miraculous moments, but also in the whisper in the quietness and privacy of our hearts” (theaquarian.com). Just because God hasn’t healed your brother, given you that raise, or mended your relationship doesn’t mean He isn’t still beside you. Whether He gives us the desires of our hearts or reveals better ones from His, the Lord is with us.
