The title already hints at the uplifting and joyful spirit of the song, which is perfect for getting into the holiday mood. Blanca’s involvement in arranging the song, shows her dedication to crafting a unique rendition of this classic hymn. The collaboration with Alex Campos is a fantastic idea, Campos adds his own style and flair to “Gozo Y Paz (God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen),” creating a fusion of Latin and Christmas vibes that is sure to resonate with a wider audience. Blanca’s vocal control and the choir’s backing vocals make this adaptation stand out, emphasizing the incomprehensible joy that Christmas represents.

Lyrics

"God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen (Joy)"
God rest ye merry, gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay
Remember Christ, our Savior
Was born on Christmas Day
To save us all from Satan's pow'r
When we were gone astray
O tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
"Fear not," then said the angel
"Let nothing you affright
This day is born a Savior
Of a pure Virgin bright
To free all those who trust in Him from
Satan's pow'r and might"
O tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
Joy, that the world can't take away
That the darkness cannot break
That will hold you through a lonely season
Joy, that the heart cannot explain
That keeps you singing through the pain
And holding to the reason for this joy
(God rest ye merry, gentlemen)
God rest ye merry, gentlemen
(Let nothing you dismay)
Let nothing you dismay
(Remember Christ, our Savior)
Remember Christ, our Savior
(Was born on Christmas Day)
Was born on Christmas Day
Joy, that the world can't take away
That the darkness cannot break
That will hold you through a lonely season
Joy, that the heart cannot explain
That keeps you singing through the pain
And holding to the reason for this joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
