Katy Nichole—“Hold On”
This summer, KAMB is the place for encouraging new music and programming for you and your family. As you go about this new week, listen for Hold On by Katy Nichole
Katy Nichole has had a busy year! She made her music debut in 2022 with “In Jesus’ Name (God of Possible),” followed by “God is in This Story” with Big Daddy Weave. She was also featured in David Leonard’s “Good Lord.” You may have heard them on KAMB! Her first album, Jesus Changed My Life, was released in February, and includes the single Hold On.
Though only 22, Katy Nichole is a seasoned performer. She started singing in her church choir, and by 14 was writing songs and leading worship. She said: “My earliest memories of feeling the Lord’s presence were when I was singing and when I had a song in my heart.”
While in college, she started to pursue a career in the medical field, but God seemed to be leading her toward music instead: “I think our desires are sometimes different than what God has planned for us. A lot of times, we’ll think it’s going to be a certain way, and then God’s like, ‘Nope, this story is going to look a little different.’”
During struggles with severe scoliosis, depression, and anxiety, music kept Katy encouraged, and reminded her of God’s plan for her life. Through her music, she wants to inspire others to look to God in their struggles: “God’s healed me, so I know He can heal someone else. I’m going to share my story and hope it will encourage others to go and share theirs.”
Hold On was inspired by a time in Katy’s life where she struggled with depression and anxiety. In moments where she wasn’t sure she could keep going, the Lord reminded her that He was not finished with her, and has a beautiful plan for her life. This faith helped her to “hold on” and keep going, and she hopes that her new song helps others facing struggles: “I hope this song can encourage you and remind you that your life matters so, so much and you can hold on because you have a purpose,” she said on her Instagram.

Hold On encourages listeners to keep going “just a little bit longer,” even when God seems hidden. She reminds us that each life has a purpose, and that struggles make us stronger. We cannot always see what lies ahead, but this song encourages us that we should place our trust in God, who knows what is in store for each of us. Like a rainbow after rain, this reminder of God’s love for us can brighten life’s storms.

Hebrews 10:23
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful;
Cor 4:16-18
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

KAMB Artist Citizens is back with new music in 2022! The Seattle group, formerly known as Citizens and Saints, has been making music since 2011. They got their start as a church worship band. Their lineup has changed a few times over the years, but the musicians currently in the band are Zach Bolen, Brian Eichelberger, Connor Hedge, Adam Skatula, and Dan Folgado.
Citizens are known for their unique sound, influenced by indie and alternative rock. According to Zach Bolen, who sings and writes for the band, the group likes to experiment with sounds and styles not often found in “church music”: “If you really want to write songs for the church, then don’t write songs just for the church. Just write songs.” The group hopes their music is approachable and allows individuals to meet God wherever they are.
Their newest single, “Everything and More” (written by Zach Bolen, Brian Eichelberger, and Taylor Leonhardt from Mission House) is about experiencing God in new ways.
“Imaginations are crazy, but they give us something to aspire to, and in this case for me, it was expanding the walls that I’ve boxed God into. For me, this song is about my own deeper discovery of God, but I want the listener to hear it through their own perspective.”
Zach Bolen
The song is upbeat, with layered sounds, instruments, and lyrics encouraging listeners to think about God’s limitlessness. Watch the music video here:

KAMB artist Elle Limebear is the daughter of Martin Smith from the Christian band Delirious?. Elle spent her youth traveling around the world with the band. On these trips, she gained a sense of the Global Church, as she met Christ followers everywhere. She invited the Holy Spirit into her life during one of her dad’s performances at around 13.
After college, she often led worship with her dad at church services and other events. She said, “Singing and leading worship with my dad is my favorite thing. I’ve watched and learned from him since I was a little girl – my whole life he has let me fly.”
Elle is still featured on some of her father’s new songs, including “Our Eyes Are on You,” released in January 2022.
Elle is passionate about making music for the next generation, and presenting the message that we belong to no one but Christ:
“My hope is for my friends that don’t know Jesus to still identify with these songs. That they’re on their party playlists, spreading hope, drawing them into truth, and then seeing it spread out to their friends, colleges, clubs, through their cities and wider.”
Elle Limebear
Her newest single, “Rest On Us,” is a cover of a popular worship song written by Brandon Lake, Elyssa Smith, Harvest Bashta, Jonathan Jay, Rebekah White, and Tony Brown. The lyrics ask God to surround believers with His Spirit and to let His Spirit rest on them.
At its release, Elle wrote on her Facebook page:
“He (the Holy Spirit) is alive. Dwelling, helping, guiding, teaching, shaping, working, and pouring the love of God into our hearts. There is nothing to be scared of — May the Holy Spirit rest on you right now, in Jesus’ name! AMEN.”

Elle, her husband Tom, and their baby son live in the UK, where she serves as a youth pastor and worship leader.
She is one of six siblings, but also wants to be an older sister figure to the youth at her church, and to her listeners:
“I want my music to make them feel valued and included. I want them to feel like they have a seat at the table.”
