Celebration Radio 101.5 KAMB and the Creation Lab Recording Studios of Turlock have teamed up to bring you another Christian Artist Search in the Central Valley. Together we’re once again striving to discover and showcase a new Christian artist with a unique musical message.
There are unlimited, boundless ways to express in song and music the new life that we have in Christ. This solo vocal artist search will bring to KAMB listeners a new outpouring of abilities, talents and gifts that God will use to expand His Kingdom.
From the large pool of applicants, 10 top finalists will be selected to:
• bring their music to tens of thousands of KAMB listeners
• be interviewed on KAMB about their vision for their music
• give them a once-in-a-lifetime exposure that they’ve always dreamed about
• perhaps even help launch their music ministry!
First and foremost, must be a Christian who is dedicated to Christ and who wants to serve God’s kingdom in Christian Ministry.
Must be accessible and have transportation to go to contest related events* sponsored by KAMB in Merced and Turlock, CA during months of February through April.
Must be a legal U. S. resident, living in one of the following eight counties in California: Calaveras, Fresno, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Tuolumne. The entrant must also be age 18 years or older as of January 1, 2010. Employees and employee family members of Central Valley Broadcasting, CreationLab Recording Studios in Turlock and event sponsors are not eligible to participate.
Once selected and announced, all Christian Artist Search finalists must be flexible with their schedules in regards to promotional activity. This will include, but not be limited to, on-air appearances on KAMB radio.
Must be available on March22-26 and March 29 - April 2, 2010 for interviews at 101.5 KAMB studios in Merced, CA. Top 10 finalists must be available on Monday, February 15, 2010 for a mandatory orientation at The Creation Lab Studios in Turlock, CA. The top 10 finalists must also be available for recording and photo shoot sessions (dates to be announced) at The Creation Lab Studios in Turlock, CA. In addition, the top 10 finalists will need to attend the dress rehearsal scheduled for April 15, 2010 at 12:00 PM and Finals Show on April 16, 2010 at 12:00 PM.
Material
You must prepare a demo of one original or Public Domain song and submit to KAMB by the deadline of February 8, 2010, 5:00 PM. Song must be in CD or MP3 format and will not be returned. So be sure to make a copy. Original songs are a plus, but you can submit songs in Public Domain.
All demos must fit the music format in style and tempo of 101.5, KAMB. KAMB is an Adult Contemporary/Inspirational Christian Music station. If unfamiliar with KAMB’s format, you are encouraged to listen to the station for a few days to become familiar before selecting, recording and submitting your demo CD. Only individual/solo artists are eligible to enter. Groups and bands are not eligible for this contest.
How to Enter
You are required to fill out, sign and agree to all of the terms and conditions in our entry form. The entry form must be filled out completely and truthfully. If you fail to complete the form, give any false information or testimony, or fail to reveal any pertinent information, you may be disqualified from the Christian Artist Search.
Demos are accepted via mail to KAMB from January 11 - February 8, 2010. Send demos along with bio and picture to KAMB, 90 East 16th Street, Merced, CA 95340. Demos and pictures will not be returned and KAMB has the right to use the demos, bios and pictures in any of their promotional activities related to the Christian Artist Search and the radio station as it sees fit.
Location, Dates and Times
The screening process will be completed by February 12, 2010. This screening process will be held by a panel of judges determined by KAMB.
KAMB will announce on the air and post on the station’s website the 10 finalists on Monday, March 15, 2010, at 9:00 AM.
KAMB radio listeners will then be able to cast their online vote at celebrationradio.com, with one vote per listener per day.
Each of the 10 finalists will have their demo along with their bio and picture on the KAMB website.
KAMB radio listeners will be allowed one vote per day per person for their favorite new artist March 15 through Noon on April 16, 2010.
On April 16, 2010, a finals show will be held at Monte Vista Chapel in Turlock, California. The 10 finalists will be showcased and will perform live before an audience.
There will be a panel of judges consisting of Christian celebrities and music industry leaders. The scoring is divided evenly between the judges and the listeners. Online voting ends April 16, 2010 at 12:00 PM.
The Top 10 Finalists
The 10 finalists chosen will have a professionally produced demo that KAMB will feature on the stations website for KAMB listeners to vote on.
If you do not have a professional recording of your final demo, one will be produced and recorded for you at The Creation Lab Recording Studios in Turlock, CA.
The 10 finalists will be required to do live radio interviews at KAMB during the weeks of March 22-26, 2010; and March 29 - April 2, 2010.
KAMB and The Creation Lab reserves the right to use the winners image, song, bio and any other material from the Christian Artist Search for promotions of other events.
Grand Prize
The grand prize winner will record a professionally produced song at The Creation Lab Recording Studios in Turlock which will be played in regular rotation on KAMB. He/She will receive 300 CD copies of his/her new single to distribute, perform live at 2010 Spirit West Coast in Monterey and receive a cash prize of $1,000.
